Frederick Memorial Healthcare Wellness Center Program

We are happy to report that our Tuesday and Friday programs for new Seekers are being regularly attended in spite of the snow. Secondly and even more exciting, because of the credibility that our center is offering us, the Frederick Memorial Healthcare Wellness Center located in the Frederick Shopping Mall is offering us the opportunity to hold 8 week meditation classes throughout the year to their clients.

Meditation workshop at Broad Run High School (BRHS) annual fall craft fair

This indoor fair was organized by the PTSO (Parent, Teacher, Student Organization). Many enthusiastic parents and kids came and learned the simple techniques of meditation. One of the local girl scout coordinators expressed desire to introduce us to her team. We had a chance to give flyers to all the booth owners, who were very forthcoming in listening to us.

"Take Your Loved Ones to the Doctors: Family Health, Screening, Fitness and Fun Day" Event in Montgomery, Md

One good thing leads to other. We got invitation for this event at the BIG Health Fair event in Baltimore. National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) in partnership with Montgomery College organized this event very well. President of the NAACP invited us to introduce Sahaja Meditation during the opening plenary. We were provided with an exhibitor’s booth, and soon a steady stream of people started coming to our booth, some of them attended the one-hour meditation workshop. One of our volunteer was presented the certificate of appreciation. We are very thankful to NAACP and Montgomery College, MD for giving us multiple opportunities to present Sahaja Meditation.

Meditation workshop for the Parents at Pine Spring Elementary School, Falls Church, VA

This was second time that Sahaja Meditation Volunteers were invited to teach meditation for the parents at the local elementary school. We had about 10 people participating in this workshop. Some of the parents from first workshop were also present. We are thankful to the School Parent Counselor for organizing this workshop, she has been regularly attending Sahaja meditation workshop at James Lee Community Center in Falls Church. We look forward to serve students, parents and teachers in DC area.

Public Program in Frederick

A Public program held on 15th of January in Downtown Frederick at C. Burr Artz Library: The program was scheduled at 2:30 p.m. and although many working people couldn't attend it, we still had approximately 30 people in attendance. The theme was centered on how Human Ecology can make our environment better! We began with a power point presentation on the importance of a global consciousness through meditation to capture the cosmic energy that help us to feel the oneness with the whole. We then followed with a self-realization exercise and then meditation accompanied by music. The people seemed so satisfied and we had lots of good comments: one man said that his old shoulder pain passed away after meditation, another person told us that she had the best meditation session in her life! The librarians who sponsored the event, want to organize a future session for the librarian staff who couldn't attend!

Meditation Program at Frederick Memorial Hospital

I offered a corporate Sahaja Meditation session complete with realization and meditation at Frederick Memorial Hospital on 10/19/09. It was well received by 20 attendees of the Frederick Memorial Hospital Rehab Department. Several attendees shared feeling the following from the top of their heads: coolness, shooting energy or pressure moving upward. All felt a deep state of calm and relaxation. On the following day, a few attendees shared that they slept better or that neck pain or tension that they had been carrying, went away.

A follow-up program may be offered after the beginning of the 2010 New Year. In the mean time, a few attendees want to continue with regular meditation at the Frederick Sahaja Meditation Center.

Fairfax Fall Festival 2009

Saturday morning weather did not look optimistic. It was gloomy, cold with some on and off rain shower, but nobody could stop the enthusiasm of the people and small kids visiting Fairfax fall festival 2009. By noon it was bright sunshine encouraging everyone to enjoy the beautiful handicraft display.

We had 2 booths at this fair, so ample of space for the volunteers and the new people.

As weather improved so did the number of people visiting our booth. Some of the volunteers at the Girls scout booth were keen to learn meditation for their group. Most of the stall owners were presented with the weekly meeting information and the flyers. Looking forward to serve our Fairfax community.
